Hikes along the six premium nock/art trails in Bad
Kleinkirchheim also integrate perfectly with stages from the Alpe-Adria long
distance trail. Works by internationally renowned artists create places for
interaction with the cultural scenery’s unusual qualities, the region’s people
and their life. Bad Kleinkirchheim runs a hiking and spa bus
service that takes visitors comfortably from the hotel to the starting
point of their walks and then later return them to their base. Add to that,
hikers receive valuable tips on places to stop and get to know some typical
culinary treats from the Carinthian Alps-Adriatic cuisine. The
diverse hiking offer is complemented by innovative near field communication for
smartphones and family-friendly illustrations. Please contact the reception desk
staff for a nock/art hiking map and a descriptive booklet on the project.
Over the next few years, a series of other art works will be completed in
and around Bad Kleinkirchheim by Austrian artists including Kooperative AO&
(Philipp Furtenbach, Philipp Riccabona & Thomas A. Wisser), Gottfried
Bechtold, Lois Weinberger, and also international artists like Hamish Fulton and
Andy Goldsworthy from England. Edelbert Köb, one of the most renowned curators
for contemporary art, is responsible for the artistic management and acts as a
bridge builder between Bad Kleinkirchheim and artists from all over the
world.
