Accessibility Statement
Introduction
Family & Sporthotel Kärntnerhof strives to make its website and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the legal requirements. The requirements are based on the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) in Austria. We aim to provide content and features that comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at least at conformance level AA. This accessibility statement applies to family-kaernten.com.
Status of Accessibility
The websites family-kaernten.com/, www.family-kaernten.com/en/, and family-kaernten.com/it/ are partially compliant with WCAG as not all requirements are fully met.
Content that is currently not or only partially accessible:
- PDF and Word documents, as they may lack semantic structure, are not properly tagged, or do not contain alt text for images. Tables may be unreadable due to missing semantic information for column or row headers. We are working to provide this content in alternative formats.
- Videos published before 15 May 2025 may lack audio descriptions or accessible controls. Retrofitting these would pose a disproportionate burden under the accessibility regulations. Where possible, we will publish new videos with subtitles and additional accessible features.
- Third-party content: Our website integrates services and content from third parties (Tourenportal Kärnten, Bad Kleinkirchheim cable cars). We cannot guarantee the accessibility of this external content.
- Alternative texts and image descriptions: Some images lack alt text or include insufficient descriptions. We are working on improving this to make them accessible to screen reader users.
Colors and Contrast: The color scheme and contrast ratios do not fully comply with WCAG 2.1 recommendations (AA standard). This may cause issues for users with visual impairments, for example in text on background images, headings, and buttons. We try to adjust font sizes as best as possible, though the layout may limit this.
Linguistic Accessibility: We aim to formulate our texts clearly, avoid foreign words, and use simple sentence structures. If you need support here, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Creation of the Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on 09 July 2025.
Testing Methodology: Self-evaluation (various tests using keyboard navigation, as well as automated tests with WAVE and Google Lighthouse)
